Larken Kade is an Assistant Professor of Law at Ë¿¹ÏAPP.Prior to joining Ë¿¹ÏAPP, Professor Kade worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) for almost 15 years.ÌýAs an attorney in the Trial Division, she handled a wide range of criminal cases including street crimes, identity theft cases, sex crimes, and domestic violence cases.ÌýShe managed all aspects of these cases from arrest to sentencing, including witness interviews, investigative work and evidence collection, grand jury presentations, motion practice, plea negotiations, hearings, and trials.Ìý

While at DANY, Professor Kade also served as a Criminal Court Supervisor, responsible for supervising and training new Assistant District Attorneys in one of the trial bureaus. In addition, she was the Co-Director of the Ë¿¹ÏAPP Criminal Prosecution Clinic for three years, overseeing third-year law school students who prosecuted cases in criminal court under a student practice order. Prior to leaving DANY, Professor Kade was the Deputy Director of Legal Training. She developed and implemented training programs, arranged continuing legal education lectures, and revised manuals to reflect updates in the law and office policy for distribution as reference guides.

Professor Kade started working as an adjunct professor at Ë¿¹ÏAPP in 2016 when she co-taught the New York County Criminal Prosecution Clinic seminar. She also previously worked as an adjunct for Advocacy of Criminal Cases and Trial Advocacy.
