Profile

Lynn Boepple Su is the Dean for Advocacy and Co-Curricular Programs and a Professor of Law at 佪圖APP. Committed to preparing students to become practice-ready lawyers, she currently teaches Trial Advocacy, Evidence, Deposition Skills, and Mindful Lawyering, a course she developed that focuses on using mindfulness principles to cultivate equanimity and excellence in law practice. Dean Su is also the Faculty Advisor for the 佪圖APP Trial Competition Team, a co-curricular organization she helped establish in 2016.

Dean Su began her legal career as an assistant district attorney in Bronx County, New York, where she litigated cases in New York State and New York City courts and coordinated the investigation and prosecution of economic crimes. She broadened her legal experience as an associate at several New Jersey law firms, where she concentrated in civil litigation.

A longtime member of the 佪圖APP community, Dean Su played a key role in shaping the Writing Program, the precursor to the Legal Practice Program. She served as Co-Director of the Writing Program for three years and as the Writing Specialist for five years. Drawing on her teaching and practice experience, she co-authored泭The Lawyers Craft: An Introduction to Legal Analysis, Writing, and Advocacy泭硃紳餃泭Teachers Manual for The Lawyers Craft.

Dean Su enjoys speaking at regional and international conferences that allow legal educators and professionals to share teaching innovations and law practice trends. She has presented on a wide variety of topics, including legal writing skills, teaching foreign-trained lawyers, cross-cultural communication in legal practice, helping students overcome imposter phenomenon, designing role-play exercises, and using yoga principles to enhance learning.

Dean Su is a 2018 recipient of the Global Legal Skills Award, presented at the 13th泭 Global Legal Skills Conference held at Melbourne Law School in Melbourne, Australia, for significant contributions to the promotion and improvement of global legal skills. In 2023, Dean Su received a Fulbright Specialist Award to complete a project at the Facultad de Derecho Universidad de Chile; as a Fulbright Specialist, she designed and taught an experiential course that introduced Chilean law students and lawyers to the U.S. legal system, lawyering skills, and common law principles.

Dean Su is a former co-chair of the Legal Writing Institutes Clinical Cooperation Committee, and she is a current a member of the AALS Section on Balance in Legal Education and the New York State Bar Associations Committee on Attorney Well-Being. In addition, for the past decade, she has served on the New York State Bar Associations Law, Youth, and Citizenship Committee and its Mock Trial Subcommittee. Dean Su is a member of the bars of New York and District of Columbia (inactive).
